Think of the amount of people killed in auto accidents each year. Getting them out of their cars and into public transportation, or better yet, on bikes, is better for everyone involved. Hopefully this migration to other modes of transportation will be supported by community transit systems and the inclusion of more and more bike lanes/paths. I think this rise in oil prices is a good thing. It's the best way to wean the west off of it's oil addiction. I’m not sure that’s a bad thing though.
