Gold was limp through the early London trading, but just before the New York session began it started up and continued higher through the early afternoon, peaking above $885 before easing to finish at $881.50, up $13.00.

Gold had a very choppy day that saw it peak short of $880 in the far East, then decline steadily during London and the first hour of the New York session on Wednesday, but then bounce off an $865 low three times by noon, after which the trend was gently upward, to a finish at $867.80, down $7.90.

Gold moved steadily higher from the overseas markets straight through the New York NYMEX and Globex sessions on Monday, finishing at its intraday high of $874.00, up $17.20. Overnight, gold edged slightly higher in London.
