The most fundamental tenet of investing is that risk and reward go hand in hand. The greater the potential reward, the greater the risk. The lower the risk, the lower the reward you can expect.

Today, we have been given as close to a guarantee by the government (backing big banks) as any of us will ever see in our lifetimes. Pass up this give away and you will need new boots to kick yourself in the butt for many years to come.

The Dow dropped another 338 points on Friday. How much more of this can investors take? Berkshire Hathaway fell below $100,000. And GM appeared to be heading for the junkyard.
