A 50 basis point rate cut by the Bank of Canada and hints that the interest rates are going even lower failed to rally the troops as selling was the story of the day on the Canadian markets during Tuesday trading.



Base Metals Rally

The base metals were all in positive territory on Tuesday. Copper started up in the pre-dawn hours and rose straight through to late morning, coming just off its intraday high late to finish at $3.9782/lb., up 6 cents.
