Crude Turns Loss Into Gain After Fed

In the energy market on Wednesday, the price of oil inched higher, with crude for April delivery closing at $49.64/barrel, up 46 cents. April reformulated gasoline dropped 5.81 cents, to $1.3657/gallon.

In the energy market on Wednesday, the price of oil soared more than 11%, with crude for April delivery closing at $47.03/barrel, up $4.70. April reformulated gasoline rose almost 9½ cents, to $1.3457/gallon.



Base Metals Edge Lower

The base metals were mostly in the red on Wednesday. Copper slumped from the late pre-dawn hours straight through New York, with only a small late uptick near the finish at $1.6153/lb., down more than 4¾ cents.

Gold Falls For 7th Straight Session

Gold traded sideways through all of Hong Kong and most of London before taking a dive below $910 as soon as the Comex opened in New York then gained a little back during the rest of the day, finishing at $915.80/oz., down $9.60. Overnight, gold is trending higher.
