Precious Metals Continue to Rally

Gold turned in a tepid performance during the New York session on Tuesday, rising well until nearly noon, where it peaked at $883, but then declining from there through the Globex and finishing weakly at $875.60, up $1.60. Overnight, gold has fallen off in London.

Gold moved steadily higher from the overseas markets straight through the New York NYMEX and Globex sessions on Monday, finishing at its intraday high of $874.00, up $17.20. Overnight, gold edged slightly higher in London.



Gold, Silver Remain Above Support Levels

Except for a sharp dip that came just after New York opened and was quickly erased, gold stayed within a tight $7 range from the far East straight through to the end of trading, finishing near the high end at $856.70, up $4.30. For the week, gold shed 3.2%.
