Gold Flat, But Silver And Platinum Rise

Gold sagged from $740 at the London open to as low as $732 in the first hour in New York, spiked back up to $743 at the noon hour, fell back below $735 at the close of the Comex, then pushed higher on the Globex to finish a very up and down day little changed at $737.70, up $1.60. Overnight, gold is slightly lower.

Gold declined slowly between the London and New York opens on Monday, plunged in the first hour of Comex trading, rallied back to where it started by early afternoon, but then reversed direction again, from there to late Globex trading, finally finishing the volatile day at $736.10, down $6.20. Overnight, gold is little changed.

Gold had another day of little volatility, just a soggy downtrend on Wednesday, drifting from its high at the outset of London trading to its intraday low early in the Globex, and a finish barely off that at $709.50, down $21.90. Overnight, gold is trending higher.



Precious Metals Slide Along with Equities

Gold sat at its high for the day in Hong Kong on Tuesday, but started declining as London opened, and fell gently through the day, bottoming in the late morning before reclaiming a little lost ground late to finish at $731.40, down $13.70. Overnight, gold has been flat.



Gold Yields Much of Early Gain, but Finishes Higher

Gold had itself a real seesaw day yesterday, poking about $15 higher by the time New York opened, really taking off and rising as high as $768 in the first hour, but then encountering a steep falloff that dropped it nearly to $740 by noon, after which it edged higher again and leveled off to finish at $744.70, up $10.80 from Friday. Overnight, gold has slipped lower.



Gold Gives Back Much of Tuesday’s Gains

Gold was very tightly rangebound from the far East through to mid-morning in New York, when it suddenly fell off a cliff, dropping $20 in a half hour, after which it leveled off and traded sideways for the rest of the day before finishing at $736.90, down $24.20. Overnight, gold is little changed.

Gold finally delivered the monster up day many have been anticipating, starting upward at the outset of London trading and pushing higher all day, including a near-vertical $20 jump at mid-morning in New York, until finally finishing on the Globex just off its intraday high at $761.10, up $39.10. Overnight, gold has slipped lower.

Gold pushed higher in the overseas markets, peaking near $740 in mid-London trading, but hit the skids at that point, dropping nearly $15 by the second hour in New York, then was flat through the Comex, before finally tailing off again during the Globex to finish at $722.00, down $1.70 from Friday. Overnight, gold has pushed higher.



Gold Has Another Disappointing Day, but Silver Rises Again

Gold sank in the overseas markets, rallied back into positive territory by mid-morning Friday, but made its high for the day there, as it declined for the rest of the Comex before steadying through the Globex and finishing at $723.70, down $12.00. For the week, gold was off 1.5%.
