Base Metals All Gain

The base metals were grinning green on Wednesday. Copper rose from the pre-dawn hours to late morning, cresting above $2.34, before pulling back to finish at $2.311/lb., up more than 5½ cents.



Base Metals Drop

The base metals were all seeing red on Tuesday. Copper held in positive territory until mid-morning, then capsized, sinking to the noon hour, before then righting the ship and adding a little back to finish at $2.2556/lb., down 5 1/3 cents.



Base Metals Mixed

The base metals were mixed on Monday. Copper held in positive territory during the pre-dawn hours, then tacked on some more gains to mid-morning in New York, before easing through the rest of the day to finish at $2.3086/lb., up 3 2/3 cents from Friday.



Base Metals Mostly Lower

The base metals were nearly all in the red on Friday. Copper was in the green until just after the New York open, then plummeted to the noon hour, before rising a bit late in the day to finish at $2.2724/lb., down 2¾ cents.



Base Metals Climb Again

The base metals were all smiling again on Thursday. Copper was down until just before the New York open, then took off, peaking north of $2.31 near noon, before sliding a bit to finish at $2.2996/lb., up nearly 4½ cents.



Base Metals Rally Strongly

The base metals were all glowing green on Wednesday. Copper rose from the pre-dawn hours to just after noon in New York, then eased for the rest of the day, finishing at $2.2554/lb., up 7 cents.



Base Metals Move Higher

The base metals mostly posted green numbers on Tuesday. Copper rose from the pre-dawn hours to mid-morning in New York, dipped a bit, but then continued upward, finishing just off its intraday highs at $2.1851/lb., up 4 2/3 cents.



Base Metals Slammed

The base metals were all mired deep in the red on Monday. Copper sank slowly through the late pre-dawn hours, then faster through the New York day before just coming off its lows late to finish at $2.1387/lb., down 10 cents.



Base Metals Little Changed

The base metals were very sluggish again on Friday. Copper was flat until the late pre-dawn hours, but rose from there to the late morning before falling off sharply after noon to finish at $2.238/lb., down a penny and a quarter.

The base metals all posted modest gains on Wednesday. Copper rode the rollercoaster, climbing to the late pre-dawn hours, falling steeply to the New York open, then rising just as sharply and, when all was said and done, adding less than a penny, to $2.2506/lb.
