I am keen to hear your thoughts on Raymarine (RAY). I bought £2k worth of shares on the 20th April 2009 for 15.5p and sold out last Wednesday at 19p making just over £300. I was wobbled and just did not have the bottle to continue. The very next day they doubled and went to 32p!!! I know a bit about them as I worked in the marine headhunting sector or 8 months. They are currently running without a CEO but have some excellent new products in the pipeline. Also Raymarine have launched some hot new products at Excel at the beginning of the year. Their main competition has been Garmin who apparently want to get out of the marine sector and concentrate more on cars. The marine sector has been really badly hit by the recession as it is about a luxury good that is a bottomless pit in terms of throwing money away. Boats never stop costing money with maintenance etc.

I look forward to hearing your comments. I was told by various employees at Raymarine that the share price is expected to rise to £1.00 by Christmas. Watch this space. Incidentally the PR lady Fiona was at a loss why the shares had suddenly doubled in a day. There had been no announcements. Last year Goldman's wrote an article about Raymarine which advertised clients to invest in them. Raymarine have traded at over £4.10 per share in August 2007.
