Back in the day, they used to mint the coins right at the mining site, put them on Galleons and off to the Old World. Now there are so many hands in the pot making sure that the US dollar remains the world's reserve currency, it's hard to tell where the gold conspiracy begins or ends (or who to point your "gold finger" at).

I'm not looking to time gold. I'm looking to acquire it for the long term. I think having gold mines mint the stuff right where it comes out of the ground is a fantastic way to keep coins available on the market. I think it's interesting that they refuse to keep minting more. It makes me wonder if they are deliberately stopping the minting of coins because they don't want a whole lot of them out on the market in the People's hands. It's the only logical explanation for why they'd stop making them when there's such a huge demand for them. If you happen to find a Willy Wonka Golden Ticket, I hope you behave yourself. We know what happens to those who don't.

I'd settle for one of those Willy Wonka gold certificates to spend a day in his Chocolate factory. More fun than trying to time gold lately.

Too bad it's impossible to find the bullion coins. It's sad that a gold mine like Barrack in Elko, NV doesn't just take the metal right out of the ground and put it right into a press for direct sale. They'd make a killing.
